07 May A Visit to the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens.
Just a short trip from Melbourne (traffic dependent) lies a storybook garden that will have you believing in fairy tales again. The path down towards the garden is quite accessible if you are reasonably fit. Most likely your children will run ahead and you will puff a little behind them. Getting back up will test your endurance a little but don’t let this put you off.
We were a little ahead of the Autumn gold but it was just beginning to show. It will be pretty spectacular there at the moment.
You can stop at Mrs Marples Tea Room on the way and while you are there, do yourself a favour and grab some lollies from the lolly shop. Or you could bring a picnic depending on how you roll.
The Alfred Nicholas gardens are about an hour from Melbourne. Prepare to be enchanted.
